This 50-minute workshop is designed to equip educators with effective strategies for communicating student data to parents, fostering stronger partnerships that enhance student success. The session begins with introductions and an icebreaker, encouraging participants to share their challenges in data communication.
We’ll explore the importance of various types of student data, including academic performance, behavioral data, and social-emotional indicators, highlighting the critical role parents play in supporting their children's learning. Best practices for sharing data will be discussed, emphasizing clear, jargon-free language and the use of visuals to enhance understanding.
Participants will engage in interactive role-playing exercises, allowing them to practice communicating data in a collaborative environment. The workshop will also cover strategies for hosting parent workshops and providing resources to help parents track their children’s progress.
