Data is Like Garbage: Collecting, Analyzing, and Using Data to Improve Student Achievement
A Session by Katie Hunter (Assistant Principal, Oconee County Elementary)
About this Session
As Mark Twain says, “Data is like garbage. You’d better know what you are going to do with it before you collect it.” In an educational world that is filled with assessments, we strive to collect data that is purposeful and that will provide specific feedback on student interventions. Come along as we take a dive into best practices for collecting, analyzing, and using data in order to promote student achievement. Participants will leave with practical ideas for data collection and organization, as well as greater knowledge in making data-informed decisions.
